---Description---
Appearance: Micas is very slender and dark. She is fairly flat-chested and has understated hips, but long legs and a narrow waist, the whole effect looking oddly stretched out on her 6’ frame. Her skin is a very dark brown, with a black pattern like bark all over, and her hair, which hangs unbound to mid-back, is such a dark green that it looks black. Her large eyes are pale pink in the center, but darker brown around the outside, and reflective of light like a cat’s. Her ears are slightly long and pointed, but she hides them under her hair so that only the tips peek out normally. She smells predominantly like trees- moss and bark and spices like cinnamon, unless she is in heat. She dresses in simple close-fitting garments of dark brown and grey animal hide. Her clothes are fur-lined to help her maintain heat and adjustable with a series of lacings. On her back, she wears a quiver, with her short-bow strapped to the outside, and several knives and basic survival supplies hang from her belt.
Personality: Vanadevi is a pack creature and not an alpha one. She is reassured by having structure and people to work with, making her friends in Eos very important to her. She’s naturally a quiet sort of person, still growing into a sense of self-confidence and self-worth, but also incredibly kind and helpful and earnest. She is a good problem-solver, intelligent in a practical manner, but prone to frustration and occasional feelings of helplessness.
Voice: Vanadevi is mute. She can hear, and she can communicate using pantomime and hand gestures, but she cannot speak, or make any vocal sounds from the throat. She can whistle though, and will do so to catch people’s attention, and will sometimes make a clicking noise with her tongue to express distaste. Her journal will translate her gestures into spoken words when needed and she can read and write in Gift-Common.

---Background---
Original Setting: A wild low-tech fantasy world populated by races of Arnians, who have some things in common with elves
Relevant History: Half-breeds in Vanadevi’s homeworld are taboo, but her Trianasi mother’s tribe raised her anyway because her abilities were useful rather than dangerous. Nonetheless, she was always aware of her differences and her “inferiority.” When she arrived in Eos, she found herself accepted and cared for as simply herself for the first time in her life. She was the one who taught the Library settlement how to survive off the land and influenced its pack-like society. She made friends, even a lover, and watched them all die or worse during the fighting. The siege on the Library and its eventual abandonment hit her people hard. Of her original pack in Eos, she only has Nei’ess left and she is determined to keep him alive at least. He was the one who gave her a new name and an unwavering friend. When Nei’ess lost his Master and beloved, Vanadevi kept him from succumbing to depression by becoming his new Master and by helping him keep the community in the Underground alive, anchoring her own mental stability in that small hidden group.
Abilities: Vanadevi is primarily a hunter, not a fighter, though she’s gotten plenty of direct combat experience in the last year. She knows how to live off the land in a sustainable way and is very good at it. She also has a few abilities from both sides of her family. She can see in the dark and see heat signatures if she tries, plus enhanced hearing and smell. Additionally, she can become essentially invisible, or translucent looking, at will by bending the light around her so the things behind her are visible but she is not. This magic field extends approximately a foot out from the surface of her skin, and so includes her clothing and anything she might be holding that close, in its effects.

Agenda: Never lose her pack again, particularly Nei’ess. Help the other people in the area survive by providing supplies and teaching. Try to build a stable life in Eos.
