Ex SE: Shattered Shadows Pt3It was the sting of the cold air on his open wound that finally spurred Booker into movement.  He rummaged through his bag for the diminishing roll of gauze and bandaged his leg absently.  The blood seeped into the wrappings, a vibrant red, and he stopped to stare at it when he finished.  This place hurt him and not just physically.  It forced him to see all the shadowed corners of his own mind he had buried over the years.  How weak he really was.  Uncontrolled.   
Dangerous.

Ex SE: Shattered Shadows Pt2They ranged from fashion and decorating to women and bars and how to live a life fully, comparing notes and laughing, the earlier tension forgotten.  Booker was honestly charmed, the smile on his face becoming genuine and open somewhere between the discussion of tea flavors and the meaning of life.  The only topic that was taboo by unspoken agreement was the Tournament that had brought them here.   
The teapot never ran out of tea and time passed unmeasurably in this place, only an indeterminent wait for Death to summon them away from the illusion with his arrogant smile and gruff mocking voice.  But it Ex SE: Shattered Shadows Pt2

Ex SE: Shattered Shadows Pt1There was something charming about being able to see your own breath on the air.  Booker smiled and blew another puff, watching it dissipate.  Under his boots, the snow crunched and squeaked softly, the noise letting him know it was a dry snow in this part of the ice-covered complex.  No snowmen for him here.   
The snow softened the sounds of his presence, killing any echoes before they were born.  The end effect, especially combined with the decor, was rather surreal.  The Blue Door led to a room much like the parlor of a Southern plantation manor, only covered in frost and snow.&n Ex SE: Shattered Shadows Pt1

Moving around

So, after 4 days of driving across the country, I made it to Seattle. I'm living in a hotel currently while I search for an apartment to move into, a slightly scary quest for me at the moment. I have a bad internet connection here, but I'm managing to get some things checked and posted at least.

Now I need to figure out all the things that need to be done before I am completely moved in here...

I'll have a chat with Nith when he gets on, but I am so rooting for this to be canon! I really want to do a piece later on with Booker and Bludworth locked together somewhere in the Labyrinth. I'd just love to find out how such a conversation would go after this piece between the three of them, especially since Booker realized his curse doesn't affect her.

No doubt, it really opens up about the character and it makes me so excited to see more of him. Not to mention to when me and Nith get our chances to do more emotional bits with the show-stealers~

Oh I think so! And considering Nith agreed earlier with me on part one was right, I am pretty dang sure I am right now. XD You did a lovely job.

Oh, it's alright, she does this for a living. Oh oh! I made a funny, awesome.

If this ends up as canon, they definitely need to run into each other again. It would go much differently the second time (less crazy Booker since he's had time to think it over and come to some sort of terms with it).

Yeah, this is actually the first time Booker has run into something that his curse doesn't work on that he would have classified as possibly a person. It'll make him wonder and give him a heads-up if he runs into more undead.

Bludworth is a real trooper about death. XD

Sad bit is, Bludworth would not trust him a single bit. She's an undead zombie who can and will hold a grudge. The fact he shot at her and pretty much attempted to ravish her--in her mind that's what happened-- she'll probably be weary and annoyed at him.

It's funny how things work out like that. But at least he knows now, and he better learn not to be racist! XD

She's rpactically a masochist in that sense. XD

Yeah, I know she won't like him. She only got to see his bad side in all of this. He wouldn't be too thrilled to work with her, but he would do it. He might even be awkwardly friendly about it, depending on the circumstances. It would be great.

He's learning! He can become more accepting of magic and monsters and their uses as this goes on. It's a definite culture shock in places.

Booker is a masochist too, but he collects injuries rather than death. Pain makes him feel better about things. He can't manage to die multiple times but can understand the feeling.

This is true. XD He didn't come from the same world as the magical realm of Nether. Also, I realized that Booker is older than Bludworth by five years. It's so weird to think that.
